Honest comparison · Catch-logging + bass-tournament workflow tool

ANGLR vs Fishare.

We respect what ANGLR does well. Here is exactly where we're different and where we're not.

What ANGLR owns
  • Detailed catch logging with auto-conditions capture
  • Tournament-team management features
  • Hardware integrations (line counter, weight scale)
Where Fishare is different
  • Forward-looking bite-score forecast for every spot. Theirs is mostly a backward-looking logger — record what happened, not predict what will happen.
  • Unified live map: wind, waves, SST, tide, AIS — all on one canvas, plus surface currents across AU east and NZ. Theirs is a logbook with stat dashboards.
  • Species-aware forecasts across 200+ profiled species, not just bass.
  • Free to browse, no signup needed to check today's window.

When you should stay with ANGLR

What Fishare doesn't do (yet or by design)

They built the catch logger. We built the forecast. The two solve different sides of the same problem — they tell you what you caught (with conditions), we tell you what you might catch tomorrow. If you fish tournaments seriously, log with them. For planning your weekend, the forecast is the move.

Frequently asked

Is Fishare really free?

The forecast side is free forever — live map, bite score, 7-day forecast and spot pages, no account needed to browse. The ocean-intelligence layers (SST with isotherms and break detection, HSI habitat heatmap, chlorophyll, subsurface temperatures, altimetry) are the single paid tier: US$5.99/mo or US$49.99/yr across every covered region, with a free look over a window of your own local water.

Where does the Fishare bite score come from?

A multi-input neural network scored per species, per hour — not a Solunar lookup. Inputs include wind, swell, tide stage, barometric pressure and trend, where the warm-cold water edges are, what the current is doing, moon phase, and a couple of dozen other features per hour. It is decision support built from live conditions, not a guarantee — we publish no accuracy figure, and some days the score is high and the water is dead.

Does Fishare have an iOS or Android app?

Yes — the native iOS app is on the App Store (search is still indexing; the direct link is apps.apple.com/app/fishare/id6783726939), and it is free for everyone: there is no paid-tier gate on the app itself. A native Android app is on its way to Google Play. Until it lands, Fishare runs on Android as a Progressive Web App: open fishare.app in Chrome, then 'Add to Home Screen' — offline support and push notifications included.
