1 · Your listing in the guide

Fishare's fishing guide answers angler questions in plain English and cites what it drew on. Charter operators sit in that source material: 307 Australian operations, each with a name, home port, region and state, the species they target, the water and boat type, the trips they run, a price band, a phone number and a website. When someone asks who runs charters out of a port, those are the entries it reaches for.

1. Check what we have. Email info@fishare.app with your boat name and home port and we will send back your entry exactly as it stands.
2. Correct or claim it. Send the fields you want changed — boat name, home port, website, phone, trip types, target species. If you are not in the directory at all, send the same details and we add you.
3. It goes live on the next refresh. The directory is rebuilt and re-indexed periodically, not per-edit, so allow a few days before the guide's answers reflect a change.

Australia only, for now. New Zealand and United States operators are welcome to write in — we build a coast's directory when operators from it start asking.

2 · Your boat's public page

Every boat in Fishare has a public page at fishare.app/boats/<id>. It shows:

• The boat's name, a CHARTER VESSEL badge if it is flagged as one, the home port, the registration if it is recorded, and the club it is attached to.
• Its competition record — every comp it has fished, how many approved fish it put on the board in each, and the best fish with the species, the length and the angler's display name.
• A share button that hands the link straight to your phone's share sheet.

A boat record is created the first time an angler enters a tag-and-release fish and picks (or types) that boat, with a charter vessel tick box right there in the entry form. So the practical route to a boat page is: fish one game-fishing comp with your boat named on the entries. Organisers can rename a boat, fix the charter flag, or merge duplicates from the comp's organiser panel at any time.

There is no self-serve "create my boat page" button yet — boats come into existence through comp entries. If you want one and are not running comps, say so in your claim email and we will sort it with you.

3 · The catch showcase

Logging a catch takes about half a minute: photo, species, length. The forecast conditions at the time are attached automatically, and catches log offline and sync when you are back in range — which matters when the good ones happen 30 nautical miles out.

• Private is the default. A catch has no public page until you flip its visibility to public. Followers-only and private catches are not rendered publicly at all.
• Public catches get their own page at fishare.app/catches/<id> — the fish, the species, the size, the conditions that produced it, and a coarse region label such as "NSW coast".
• Moderation applies. Photos and notes pass the same user-content moderation every public surface uses before the page exists.

That is the showcase: a run of real, dated, photo-backed fish an angler can scroll before they ring you. It does more work than a gallery of last season's hero shots, because it has a date on it.

4 · Comps, clubs & your regulars

You can create a free club page for your operation in a couple of minutes — the same tooling fishing clubs use, with nothing gated: unlimited members, unlimited comps, unlimited admins. Start at fishare.app/clubs, and the full organiser handbook lives on /for-clubs.

Why an operator would bother:

• A season-long board for your regulars. Longest fish, points-per-cm, best-per-species, or a full game-fishing tag-and-release point score.
• Photo-verified entries. A code word goes in every photo, so nobody enters a fish from three summers ago.
• An embeddable leaderboard. A copy-paste snippet drops your live board onto your own booking site, and results export as CSV.
• Sponsor and logo slots on your page and every comp page — useful if a tackle brand backs your boat.

5 · Sharing to your socials

Every public catch can be shared from the app as a branded image card — the fish, the species, the size, your name on it. On a phone it goes through the native share sheet, so Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp are all one tap. On a desktop browser you can copy the link or the text instead. Boat pages and comp boards have their own share buttons.

Fishare does not post to your accounts for you. It hands you the card and the link; you post it. We would rather not hold your social logins, and you would rather we did not.

6 · Privacy — yours and your clients'

• Exact locations never appear on a public surface. Not on a catch page, not on a boat page, not on a comp board. Public catch pages carry a coarse region label only — "Sydney coast", "QLD coast" — derived from the position and never the position itself.
• Your marks are yours. Nothing you log privately is published, sold, or shown to another user.
• Your clients control their own catches. Anglers aboard log their fish on their own accounts and choose their own visibility. Their display alias is what appears on boards, not their legal name.
• Contact details in the guide are the ones you give us — the business phone and website you want anglers to use.
